•      LONG   LANCE

And now we must leave it to our old people to sit
stolidly and dream of the glories of our past.
Our job is to try to fit ourselves Into the new
scheme of life which the Great Spirit has decreed
for North America. And we will do that, keep-
ing always before us the old Blackfoot proverb;
" fokokit-ki-ackamimat—Be wise and persevere.
